Vacancy: CCAMLR Data and Information Systems Manager

2021-11-14

Position: Data and Information Systems (DIS) Manager
Position Type: International Professional Officer P4
Position Term: Full time four-year contract with a renewal term of a second four years maximum
Application deadline: 8 December 2021 (5pm AEDT)

The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), an intergovernmental organisation with its Secretariat headquartered in Hobart, Tasmania, invites applications for the position of Data and Information Systems Manager.

The Secretariat supports large international meetings of the Commission and Scientific Committee and maintains databases and IT systems serving scientific research, fisheries management, and business functions. We are looking for an experienced Data and Information Systems Manager able to guide the development of the Commission's data management and IT systems. In addition to your technical skills in database development and data architecture design, you will have experience with providing oversight of IT delivery for small organisations and in managing small teams of multi-disciplinary professionals.

This exciting position will lead the DIS team, supporting the work of the 26 Member countries of the International Convention as they conserve and manage fishing in the waters surrounding Antarctica.

What does it take to impress us?

You'll have a tertiary qualification in a relevant information systems discipline, and experience leading small dynamic teams responsible for data management and provision of IT services. You will also be passionate about contributing your skills to improving environmental management.

And how can we impress you?

A promise that you'll be working in an exciting organisation that has a global impact.

Plus, a generous salary package, international relocation to Hobart, and generous annual leave; just a few of the benefits you could experience! The successful candidate will be sponsored by CCAMLR in obtaining a Diplomatic visa if required.

If you're looking to make your mark in a role where you get to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds and are wanting an adventure, then what are you waiting for? APPLY NOW!

To apply for this job, please see the position description and send your CV containing 3 referees along with a cover letter and statement addressing how your skills and experience best meet the requirements of the role.

Please address the Essential Criteria listed in the ‘academic and other qualifications' and ‘work experience and skills' areas listed in the position description as a minimum. Applications must be submitted in English.

If you need further information regarding this position, please contact Angie McMahon, Human Resources Officer, on + 61 3 6210 1140.

Applications close 5pm AEDT 8 December 2021
