Participants at the Third International Consultation on the Establishment of the South Pacific RFMO in Re aca, Chile agreed that pending the establishment of a Secretariat under the Agreement, an Interim Secretariat will be established and hosted by New Zealand. Annex G of the Re aca Meeting Report provides further detail. It is expected the Interim Secretariat will have an initial staff of three. An Interim Secretariat is expected to be operating by September 2007.
