The fourth international meeting on the establishment of the South Pacific RFMO was held from 10 - 14 September 2007 in Noumea, New Caledonia.
The report of the meeting and associated annexes (Annex A - Agenda, Annex B - Report of the SWG, Annex C - Interim Benthic Assessment Framework, Annex D - Process for Benthic Assessment, Annex E - Report of the DIWG, Annex F - Squid Jig and Pot Fishing Data Standards, Annex G - VMS Standards, and Annex H - List of Participants) are now available in pdf format.
The following working group meetings were held in Noumea:
- Data & Information Working Group (D&IWG) - Mon 3 September 2007 (To discuss additional data standards and other DIWG matters)
- Joint D&IWG and Science Working Group - Tue 4 September 2007 (To discuss draft VMS and Scientific Observer Standards)
- Science Working Group - Wed 5 - Fri 7 September 2007 (To discuss species and habitat profiles, benthic assessment standard and process, other science matters)
On 26 July 2007 the Chair of the international negotiations distributed a covering letter and a second revision of the draft Agreement text to participants for consideration at the Noumea meeting.
